It’s a question we get asked frequently by women and men. One of the common misconceptions is that you have to look “perfect” or have a “great body” in order to go to a clothing-optional beach like Haulover Beach. It’s also been said that “everyone at a nude beach is everyone who should be wearing clothes.”
That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
The fact is that unless you’re a professional model, we’re all going to have extra fat, scars, you name it.
Friends tell me all the time, “I’d love to join you at the beach, but my breasts sag way too much. I have stretch marks, cellulite, and I just don’t look like an 18-year-old.”
My body sure isn’t what it used to be. Having kids and stress take their toll on a body. But you know what I have instead? I have confidence.
It’s not about looking good. It’s about loving yourself, being free, and realizing that life’s too short to give a crap about what other people think.
Have you ever said any of the following phrases?
- I’m too fat.
- I’m too thin.
- My (insert body part here) is too big/too small.
- I don’t look good.
- I am not confident enough.
- There’s no way I could be naked in public!
I said these phrases for years until my first time going to a clothing-optional beach in San Diego, CA – Black’s Beach. After I realized that nobody cared what I looked like, and felt the freedom of being nude on a beach, I was hooked.
The most fascinating aspect about clothes-free recreation that I’ve experienced is the fact that my body image IMPROVED after going to a nude beach. I feel less self-conscious now, because I love my body. I love how it feels. I love myself again.
Don’t allow shyness, fear, criticism, or negative thoughts overtake your desire to try clothing-optional recreation.
Come join the fun at Haulover Beach. If you don’t have a friend to bring, come by yourself. It’s a fun, safe environment to try clothes-free recreation for the first time.
